Il documente les différentes étapes qui ont marqué la circulation des œuvres dans le paysage théâtral ouest-allemand entre 1949 et 1989, de leur découverte par les maisons d’éditions à leurs traductions et mises en scène majeures, et jusqu'à leur réception par la presse spécialisée et le grand public. Il montre notamment que le répertoire – par nature cosmopolite – du théâtre « de l’absurde » a été doté, dans la culture d’accueil ouest-allemande, d’une dimension internationale qui a favorisé son intégration.Ce travail de synthèse jette ainsi un nouvel éclairage non seulement sur l’histoire théâtrale, mais aussi sur les relations culturelles franco-allemandes de 1949 à 1989. | ||
