Children are being conceived with growing frequency through in vitro fertilization. Therefore, the law must determine who their parents are. Parenthood has long been based on genetic origin, but what is the governing principle for the legal classification of children conceived by in vitro fertilization? This question and the problem of deciding who should be regarded as the parents of these children is the central concern of this work. Kinder werden immer öfter mithilfe künstlicher Befruchtung gezeugt. Das Recht muss deshalb bestimmen, wer ihre Eltern sind. Lange richtete sich die Elternschaft nach der genetischen Abstammung. Was aber ist das maßgebliche Prinzip für die rechtliche Zuordnung eines Kindes, das mithilfe künstlicher Fortpflanzung gezeugt wurde? Dieser Frage sowie der, wer Eltern dieser Kinder sein sollten, ging der dem Werk zugrunde liegende Vortrag nach.
