| 520 | |a Unter Friedrich Schleiermachers vielfältigen Leistungen sticht die epochemachende Übersetzung Platons besonders hervor. Als ‚frühromantisches’ Projekt war diese Übersetzung von Friedrich Schlegel für eine Gemeinschaftsarbeit mit Schleiermacher angeregt worden, wurde jedoch schließlich von Schleiermacher allein realisiert.Die vorliegende kritische Ausgabe bietet nicht nur die Texte der ersten und zweiten Auflage des Bandes I,1 (Einleitungen, Übersetzungen, Anmerkungen), sondern auch sämtliche einschlägigen, bislang unbekannten, handschriftlichen Entwürfe und Vorarbeiten, von denen die zum Phaidros sogar bis auf das gescheiterte und nie gedruckte Gemeinschaftsprojekt mit F. Schlegel (1801) zurückgehen. Daneben werden auch die griechischen Textvorlagen zu den jeweiligen Übersetzungsfassungen geboten.Der Band stellt damit die wissenschaftlichen Diskussionen in einer Vielzahl von Bereichen, die von der Gräzistik über die Philosophiegeschichte, Literaturwissenschaft, Komparatistik und Übersetzungswissenschaft bis hin zur Theologie reichen, auf eine neue materielle Grundlage. | ||
