520 | |a The tractate “On the Environment” is one of the oldest and most famous writings of the Hippocratic corpus. It includes a discourse on the influence of the environment on human health. This complex medical theory, which finds confirmation in many other works in the collection, is closely related to the theory of the humors, which significantly shaped the view of human nature in early academic medicine.
