For the first time, this volume presents a systematic edition of archival sources on Prussian censorship policy between the Carlsbad Decrees of 1819 and the March Revolution of 1848. It offers new insights into government action against the literary public at the central, regional, and local levels. New research questions are suggested in particular by the practice of in situ censorship. Mit diesem Band liegt erstmals eine systematische Edition archivalischer Quellen zur preußischen Zensurpolitik zwischen den Karlsbader Beschlüssen von 1819 und der Märzrevolution 1848 vor. Sie erlaubt neue Einblicke in das Vorgehen des Staates gegen die literarische Öffentlichkeit sowohl auf zentraler, als auch auf regionaler und lokaler Ebene. Insbesondere die Zensurpraxis "vor Ort" stellt neue Fragen an die Forschung.
