Gustav Adolf Lehmann behandelt Heynes Forschungen zur Alten Geschichte, Daniel Graepler seinen Beitrag zur Herausbildung der Klassischen Archäologie, Balbina Bäbler seine Beziehungen zum "Vater der Archäologie" Winckelmann. Peter Kuhlmann stellt Heynes Bemühungen um die Alten Sprachen in der Schule dar und Helmut Rohlfing seine Verdienste um Ausbau und Organisation der Göttinger Universitätsbibliothek. Abschließend skizziert Heinz-Günther Nesselrath Heynes Verdienste um die Göttinger Akademie der Wissenschaften.
