Die Simulationen sind hauptsächlich mit der Erweiterung Simulink durchgeführt. Das Modell wird graphisch durch Verbindung verschiedener Funktionsblöcke gebildet und stellt dadurch eine Abbildung des Systems dar. Die Vorgänge im Modell können dann verständlich und anschaulich verfolgt werden. Der Einsatz von Simulink unterscheidet dieses Buch von den Konkurrenzwerken, die MATLAB-Simulationen enthalten.
