Die Stationen der Präsenz Hegelschen Denkens in Frankreich werden von namhaften Hegelforschern und Kennern der Rezeption zu einem abwechslungsreichen Bild verdichtet. Dabei geht es nicht so sehr um die Hegelsche Lehre, als vielmehr um das zündende bzw. provokatorische Moment seines Denkens, das nicht nur thematisiert wird, wo es auf fruchtbaren Boden fällt, sondern auch da, wo man es gewissermaßen abwehrt. Beleuchtet wird in diesem Band die französische Hegel-Rezeption u. a. von Louis Althusser, Maurice Blanchot, Victor Cousin, Gilles Deleuze, Jacques Derrida, Jacques d'Hondt, Michel Foucault, Jean Hyppolite, Luce Irigaray, Alexandre Kojève, Jean-Luc Nancy, Jean Wahl und Eric Weil.
