This work is an attempt to bring together for the first time as complete a comprehensive and systematic record as possible of the Oriental Diptera fauna. It is being presented in three volumes: (I) Suborder Nematocera, (II) Suborder Brachycera, and (III) Suborder Cyclorrhapha.The present volume treats the suborder Nematocera, which includes the mosquitoes, black flies, midges, gnats, and related forms. Many of these are bloodsuckers and vectors of diseases of man and animals.
