| Notes: | In addition to showing all of northern Oman, this map includes three smaller inset maps showing Naqb al-Hajar (here written "Naqab El Hadschar"), the Dahlak Archipelago, and the Red Sea respectively. Of these, Naqb al-Hajar is particularly important for the study of Ancient South Arabian epigraphy. Known in antiquity as Mayfaʿat or Mayfaʿ (Ancient South Arabian Myfʿt; Myfʿ), this site has yielded several inscriptions in Ḥaḍramitic, the least known of the four major Ancient South Arabian languages.
