• Notes: Although Höfner (1944: 89) [bib:N4ZHS9UW] gives "Obne" as the provenance of this inscription, the Arabic note at the bottom of the squeeze indicates that the inscription is from Wādī l-Bināʾ. The latter provenance is also given in http://dasi.humnet.unipi.it/. Of orthographic interest is the fact that the letters in the first line of the inscription are somewhat larger than those in lines 2-5.

Text preserved in this squeeze:1.of Ḥaḍramôt, when [his ] two lords,2. the elevated area from the seashore in3. them were some of the high-ranking officials of Ḥaḍramôt; and4.and the gate of Yakan, in polished stone, and a barrier and a refuge5 . months, the construction by 120 men.Resored full text of the inscription:1.[Shakimum Salḥîn bin Riḍwân has directed for his lord, Yashhurʾîl Yuharʿish bin ʾAbîyaْaʿ, the ruler] of Ḥaḍramôt, when [his ] two lords,2.[Hayaْʿʾîl ʿAlhân bin Banaʾîl and Dawsum Masabum bin Ẓarab, commanded him to build the defenses of Qalat and the defenses of Ḥigr,] the elevated area from the seashore in [front, on the terrace(?)]3.[.. and the polished stones and the fill of the wall of Qalat and the defenses, when they were on their guard against Ḥimyarum. And Hayaśaʿʾîl and Dawsum went forth, and with ] them were some of the high-ranking officials of Ḥaḍramôt; and [ they arrived at]4.[Mayfaʿt and Ḍayfatân as a garrison; and he built and strengthened the defenses of Ḍayfatân and he built the wall and the two towers of Yadhʾân and Yadhatʾân ] and the gate of Yakan, in polished stone, and a barrier and a refuge5.[... ... and the passages(?) from the base to the top, by the grace of Shamas in the second year of Yashraḥʾîl Dhû-ʿAzîzum, in three ] months, the construction by 120 men.
