• Notes: Although Höfner (1944: 89) gives "Obne" as the provenance of this inscription, the Arabic note at the bottom of the squeeze indicates that the inscription is from Wādī al-Bināʾ. The latter provenance is also given in http://dasi.humnet.unipi.it/. This squeeze preserves a portion of the text on the left-hand side of the inscription. Of orthographic interest is the fact that the letters in the first line of the inscription are somewhat larger than those in the remaining lines. In this particular squeeze, the fifth and final line of the inscription is not preserved.

[ Hayaْʿʾîl ʿAlhân bin Banaʾîl and Dawsum Masabum bin Ẓarab, commanded him to build the defenses of Qalat and the defenses of Ḥigr,] the elevated area from the seashore in front, on the terrace(?)3.[.. and the polished stones and the fill of the wall of Qalat and the defenses, when they were on their guard against Ḥimyarum. And Hayaśaʿʾîl and Dawsum went forth, and ] with them were some of the high-ranking officials of Ḥaḍramôt; and they arrived at4.
