• Notes: Although Höfner (1944: 89) [bib:N4ZHS9UW] gives "Obne" as the provenance of this inscription, the Arabic note at the bottom of the squeeze indicates that the inscription is from Wādī al-Bināʾ. The latter provenance is also given in http://dasi.humnet.unipi.it/. Of orthographic interest is the fact that the letters in the first line of the inscription are somewhat larger than those in lines 2-5. This squeeze also appears to be stained.

[ Hayaْʿʾîl ʿAlhân bin ] Banaʾîl and Dawsum Masa [ bum bin Ẓarab, commanded him to build the defenses of Qalat and the defenses of Ḥigr, the elevated area from the seashore in front, on the terrace(?)]3.[.. and the polished stones and the fill of] the wall of Qalat and the defenses, when they were on their guard against Ḥ[imyarum. And Hayaśaʿʾîl and Dawsum went forth, and with them were some of the high-ranking officials of Ḥaḍramôt; and they arrived at ]4. [ Mayfaʿt and Ḍayfatân as a garrison; ] and he built and strengthened the defenses of Ḍayfatân [ and he built the wall and the two towers of Yadhaʾân and Yadhatʾân and the gate of Yakan, in polished stone, and a barrier and a refuge ]5.[... ... and the passages(?) ] from the base to the top, by the grace of Shamas [ in the second year of Yashraḥʾîl Dhû-ʿAzîzum, in three months, the construction by 120 men. ]
