Janet Wilson James

Janet Wilson James (December 23, 1918 – June 10, 1987) was an American historian, educator, and pioneer in the field of women's history. As a professor at Boston College, James played a significant role in the development of the Women's Studies program, later renamed the Women's and Gender Studies program, and mentored young women scholars.
