Ignác Goldziher
Ignác (Yitzhaq Yehuda) Goldziher (22 June 1850 – 13 November 1921), often credited as Ignaz Goldziher, was a Hungarian scholar of Islam. Alongside Joseph Schacht and G.H.A. Juynboll, he is considered one of the pioneers of modern academic hadith studies.His most important work is the two-volume ''Muhammedanische Studien'' (''Muslim Studies''), especially its second volume, which addresses questions of the origins, evolution, and development of hadith.
