Participation at International Conference on Magnetism in Bologna

The 22nd International Conference on Magnetism was held in Bologna, Italy from the 30th of June to the 5th of July, 2024. ICM is the largest conference of the worldwide magnetism community and hosted around 500 speakers in 50 sessions covering all fields of magnetism, from fundamental research to advanced applications.

In the session ‘Critical challenges and Magnetic Materials (raw materials, sustainability, automotive)’, Andrea Bachmaier gave a talk on the importance of novel rare-earth free magnetic materials. Alexander Paulischin presented novel and exciting results on processing of SmCo-based magnetic material by high pressure torsion and subsequent annealing treatments in the ‘Hard magnetic materials’ poster session. Both research topics are supported by the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (Grant No. 757333 and 101069203).
