Heritage Science and Medieval Documents
The digital humanities have become an essential tool for medievalists. However, another field that is becoming increasingly important for the study of medieval documents is Heritage Science. While digital humanities employ computer-aided methods, heritage science uses exact sciences to study physical artifacts, from multispectral imaging to chemical analysis.
This event will focus on the collaborative efforts of IMAFO and its partner institutions in applying Heritage Science to the study of medieval written sources. The program will highlight current research projects, emerging methodologies, and future directions in this field.
