Magnus Nordborg elected member of the European Molecular Biology Organisation

It was announced today that Magnus Nordborg was elected as a member of the European Molecular Biology Organisation. Along with two other new members from the VBC, only 58 researchers in total were elected to EMBO membership this year. Election to EMBO membership, which occurs through a nomination and voting process open only to current EMBO members, is an acknowledgement by Europe's top scientists of excellence in molecular biology research.

Magnus' research focuses on elucidating the genotype-phenotype problem, and understanding the genetic basis of adaptation.  More information about Magnus and his research can be found on his website.

EMBO stands for excellence in the life sciences.

EMBO is an organization of more than 1700 leading researchers that promotes excellence in the life sciences. The major goals of the organization are to support talented researchers at all stages of their careers, stimulate the exchange of scientific information, and help build a European research environment where scientists can achieve their best work.

More information about EMBO can be found on their website.
