… studied musicology and Romance studies in Osnabrück and Vienna and attained her doctorate in 2022 ("Das barocke Festspiel als modernes Geamtkunstwerk. Die Opernästhetik von Egon Wellesz"). She has been part of multiple research projects, for example Eduard Hanslick’s 'Vom Musikalisch-Schönen': Dynamic Features of the Text and Its Contexts (Austrian Academy of Sciences, 2018–2021), funded by the Austrian Science Fund FWF, or Telling Sounds at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna (2021). Since 2017, she has been working for the Complete Edition of the Writings of Arnold Schönberg.

At the ACDH-CH, Meike Wilfing-Albrecht is part of the research unit Musicology. She previously worked for the projects Oesterreichisches Musiklexikon Online (OeML) as well as DEMOS, and became staff scientist and project lead at the Wiener Arbeitsstelle der Johannes Brahms Gesamtausgabe in September 2022. Her research interests include music history of the 19th and 20th Centuries (especially Viennese Modernism), history of science, and musical criticism.
