Maximilian Piniel | Institute for Prehistory and Historical Archaeology (IUHA), University of Vienna

The Bronze Age represents an epoch of agricultural upheaval, the greatest of which was already completed in the Late Bronze Age. The Early and Middle Bronze Age are therefore of central importance when it comes to the adoption and spread of these new agricultural techniques. The lecture will present the dissertation project with its central research question »Whether and how agricultural strategies and plant nutrition changed along the Upper and Middle Danube from the 23rd to the 14th century BC« and present initial results.
