... is head of the Thomas Bernhard Research Centre within the research unit Literary&Textual Studies and professor of Modern German Literature with a special focus on Austrian Literature at the Department of German Studies of the University of Vienna.
His research interests concern German and Austrian Literature since the 18th century, literary sociology, aesthetics, intermediality, literary theory, the Enlightenment, Classicism, Modernism and contemporary literature.
He is president of the International Robert Musil Society as well as of the New German Studies Association Vienna.
