Sažetak:Outside the academic world, prejudices about Indian philosophy still often lead to simplistic identification with religion. Although their link is inseparable, Indian philosophy has, however, dealt with issues related to the most diverse philosophical spheres with a depth and precision of analyses which have remained unmatchable at times. This anthology collects a selection of texts from medieval times representing some of the most important Indian philosophical traditions and presents them in thematic order. The first ones illustrate first of all the main technical terminology in the ontological and epistemological field, thus tracing the basic taxonomy of the real and defining in particular the role of inference between the means of valid knowledge. The second group of texts deals mainly with topics related to the philosophy of language and the statute of the word, including the link between significant and meaning and the transition from indeterminate knowledge to that determined. The following texts treat questions of a purely theological nature (an analysis of the relationship between the one and the multiplicity of the Phenomenenic World) and the Ethical/soteriological (an investigation on the link between action and knowledge, and on the foundation of Moral action). They close the volume two pieces, one in which the dream and the knowledge pertaining to it are examined, and the other in which one seeks to reconcile the aesthetic experience with the religious one of the devotion
