Valérie Issarny

Valérie Issarny (19 April 1964 – 12 November 2022) was a Director of Research at the National Institute for Research in Digital Science and Technology (INRIA), France. Issarny was known for her research in middleware solutions for distributed collaborative services, including mobile services deployed over smartphones that interact with sensors.

Issarny's awards include being recognized as one of the “''12 Etoiles de l’Europe''” (12 Stars of Europe) in 2013, an award given by the French Ministry of Research. In 2014, she was recognised as Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honour) for her contributions to science and European scientific cooperation in research and education.
