Lauren Elkin

Lauren Elkin (born 1978) is a writer, essayist and translator. She is known for her book, ''Art Monsters: Unruly Bodies in Feminist Art'' and ''Flâneuse'', which was among the list of notable books by ''The New York Times Book Review'' and a finalist for the PEN/Diamonstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay.

Her work has appeared in ''The New York Times'', ''Granta'', ''Le Monde'', and ''Frieze''. A native New Yorker, Elkin lived in Paris, France and is now based in London. She was the English translator of Simone de Beauvoir's ''The Inseparables''.
