In keeping with the regulations of the federal government the OeAW encourages employees and visitors to wear a FFP2 mask for self-protection and the protection of others.

If you do not know the email address, you can find an individual employee using the search function on the OeAW website. The website of the Federal Ministry for Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection offers current information about the coronavirus and the situation in Austria.

How can I protect myself and others?
According to the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), the following measures are recommended:
• Wash your hands several times a day with soap and water or a disinfectant containing alcohol.
• Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze.
• Avoid direct contact with other people (minimum distance 2 m).
Further recommendations can be found on the website of the Austrian Society for Hygiene, Microbiology and Preventive Medicine (ÖGHMP).
With regard to stays abroad, please note the current travel warnings from the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs, which can also change at short notice.

If you suspect you are infected or have symptoms (most common: fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing), stay at home and contact the health advice call center on 1450. The number is available 24 hours a day. OeAW employees should inform their superiors immediately.

If you suspect that you are infected or have symptoms (most commonly: fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing) related to the coronavirus, you are not allowed to enter the OeAW. Please contact the health advice call center on 1450 and follow the instructions given by the federal or regional agencies.
