Der Autor legt hier den Versuch einer gattungstypologischen Erweiterung des Aphorismus vor und knüpft damit an seine früheren Bemühungen an, Indizien für dessen relative Isoliertheit zusammenzutragen. Er analysiert deshalb zum einen Aphorismen von Karl Kraus, Martin Kessel und anderen im spezifischen Kotext der Komposition des Aphorismenbuches, zum an- dern die Bearbeitung und Neuverwendung aphoristischer Texte, die ursprünglich im Kontext von Essay oder Roman stehen.

Taking up his previous efforts to gather evidence of the relative isolation of the genre, the author now attempts to extend the understanding of aphorism. On the one hand, he analyzes apho- risms by Karl Kraus, Martin Kessel and others in the specific „cotext“ of the composition of Aphorism books, on the other hand, he looks at the processing and re-use of aphoristic texts that were written in the context of essays or novels.
