He was in charge of the workshop “Nuclear energy: Hybris?” in which participants learned about the assets and drawbacks of nuclear energy generation, in particular nuclear fission and fusion. Thereby, Stefan Wurster responded to the physical basics of these processes as well as to actual progresses and limits of the promising technology of nuclear fusion. Afterwards the attention was especially turned on previous disasters of atomic power plants and dangers regarding nuclear waste. Furthermore, the problem of global energy supply was critically debated.
