A catalogue in the form of a database is planned on the basis of the Chinese description of the palm leaf manuscripts of some of the manuscripts in Central Tibet carried out in 1984–85 by Prof. Luo Zhao on behalf of the government of the Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR). A schema for XML-based cataloguing according to the MASTER standard was developed (Birgit Kellner), as well as a tool for data input and the production of stylesheets for the transformation into HTML format. A server-side program facilitating clear arrangement of manuscript descriptions with functions for varying focus, browsing and searching was developed, first for internal purposes. Information known from other publications (Rāhula Sāṅkṛtyāyana, Bandurski, Sferra) was also entered. These data will be used, in due course, to support the description of the photocopies in the CTRC of large parts of the manuscripts in the TAR and, finally, of the still unknown manuscripts in the TAR.
