Summer school for Experimental Nano- and Micromechanics

From 11.-15. September 2017, the first Summer School on Experimental Nano- and Micromechanics was held in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Many topics concerning miniaturized testing techniques, data evaluation and hardware setup were discussed during the week in a casual, but professional atmosphere. The program included extended lectures from senior scientists, one given among others by Assoz. Prof. Daniel Kiener on plasticity at the nanoscale and Dr. Megan Cordill on thin film adhesion, as well as intense hands-on exercises and a poster session. The Carl Zeiss award for the best poster went to Markus Alfreider for his work on the deformation behaviour of nanocrystalline austenitic steel.

Congratulations!
