Dr. Barbara Putz, former PhD Student at the Erich Schmid Institute of Material Science, was awarded the Graduate Student Award Silver Medal at the International Conference on Metallurgical Coatings and Thin Films (23.-27. of April 2018, San Diego, California) for her work entitled "Interfacial stability of the Aluminium-Polyimide interface against thermal treatments". In collaboration with the European Space Agency ESA, Dr. Putz investigated metal-polymer interfaces for space and terrestrial applications.
