Vienna Scanathon 2018
The READ project’s exciting new device known as the ScanTent, along with the corresponding DocScan mobile app, allows users to take high quality images of historical documents with their own mobile phones. During Vienna's first Scanathon, hosted by the ACDH, prospective users get a unique opportunity to get to know and try out the brand-new prototypes.
Developed by researchers at Computer Vision Lab of TU Vienna, the ScanTent and DocScan are designed to facilitate fast, simple and mobile on demand digitization for archival work and other digitization tasks. The Scanathon is organized in cooperation between the ACDH and the READ project as part of the 2018 Transkribus User Conference and is open to the public.
Users are invited to bring their own documents and material for digitization during the hands-on part.
Please note that the registration for the Vienna Scanathon 2018 is now closed, as all available places have been filled.
